El Volkswagen Passat es un favorito histórico del mercado de importación español, especialmente la variante Variant (familiar/break) que apenas se vende en concesionario en España pero abunda en el mercado alemán. Las generaciones B8 (2014–2023) y B9 (2024+) son las más importadas, con precios entre 12.000 € y 32.000 €. La motorización más común es el 2.0 TDI 150 cv, muy demandada por las flotas alemanas, lo que abarata el mercado de ocasión. Las versiones Passat GTE (híbrido enchufable) y R-Line también son frecuentes en importación. Hay que tener cuidado con los Passat TDI anteriores a 2017 (Euro 5, etiqueta B) — están limitados en muchas ZBE españolas. El Passat Alltrack (versión campera con suspensión elevada) es una rareza muy buscada y casi imposible de encontrar en España nueva.
